Our Commitment to Accessibility
Strength & Empower is committed to creating a website that is welcoming, usable, and accessible to as many people as possible. Accessibility reflects an important part of our broader mission. We believe information and resources should be easier to find, understand, and navigate, and we are working to consider accessibility throughout the design, development, and ongoing growth of this website.
Our Approach
As Strength & Empower develops and maintains this website, we aim to follow recognized accessibility practices and consider clear and consistent navigation, logical heading structure, readable text and color contrast, keyboard accessibility, alternative text for meaningful images, descriptive links and buttons, accessible forms and instructions, mobile compatibility, plain language, and reduced reliance on color or visual presentation alone to communicate meaning.
Working technical benchmark: WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We do not publicly claim WCAG 2.2 AA compliance unless the finished site has actually been evaluated against that standard.
Accessibility is an ongoing process; websites, technology, content, and accessibility needs continue to evolve.
How We Design for Clarity
Cognitive accessibility is especially important: we aim for predictable page structure, clear headings, short paragraphs, plain language, obvious next steps, and uncluttered layouts for visitors who may be stressed, overwhelmed, or processing complex information.
Additional practices we work toward include comfortably usable touch targets on phones; not relying on hover alone; avoiding flashing or unnecessary motion; testing increased browser zoom; and keeping forms visibly labeled with understandable instructions.
Third-Party Content and External Resources
Strength & Empower may link to websites, documents, resources, or services provided by other organizations. While we aim to connect visitors with useful resources, we do not control the accessibility of third-party websites or content.
Documents and Resources
As Strength & Empower develops downloadable guides, documents, PDFs, and other resources, we will work to consider accessibility in how those materials are created and presented. If a visitor experiences difficulty accessing a resource or document provided directly by Strength & Empower, they may contact us so we can work to identify an alternative way to access the information when reasonably possible.
Accessibility Feedback
We welcome feedback about the accessibility of Strength & Empower. If you experience difficulty using the website, encounter an accessibility barrier, or have a suggestion for improving accessibility, contactkatie@strengthandempower.com.
When reporting an accessibility issue, it may be helpful to briefly describe the page, resource, or feature involved and the difficulty experienced. Please do not include sensitive medical, mental health, educational, or other personal information that is not necessary to understand the accessibility concern.
